Carla Thamm
Carla is currently an academic and early career researcher in the school of nursing at the Queensland University of Technology. She has been a registered nurse for 20 years working clinically in various cancer care settings in England, Victoria, and Queensland. For the last 10 years of her clinical career she worked in advanced practice cancer nursing roles. Carla is a committee member of the Cancer Nurses Society of Australia educational committee and a member of the knowledge and development committee for the International Society for Nurses in Cancer Care. She regularly presents at both national and international conferences. Carla’s PhD investigated the sociocultural factors that influence head and neck cancer. Her research interests lie in improving outcomes and experiences of cancer patients, particularly those with rarer cancers.
