Olivia Cook
Olivia Cook is a registered nurse, educator and researcher dedicated to leading and supporting research that drives equity and improves the experience and outcomes of people with cancer.
Recently appointed as the inaugural Associate Professor of Cancer Nursing at Bayside Health and Monash University, Olivia is a leader in cancer nursing in Australia. Over her 25+ years as a registered nurse, she has developed a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges for providing optimal cancer care across Australia, particularly for people from priority populations. In her most recent role as Head of Education and Research at the McGrath Foundation she played a key role in the expansion of their services from breast cancer to all cancer types, increasing the reach of specialist cancer nursing services across the country.
Much of Olivia’s clinical experience and research has focused on gynaecological cancer care and her PhD on the contribution of specialist nurses to gynaecological cancer care in Australia and New Zealand was the precursor for the current project being led by Natalie Williams.
