Daniel Cehic is the Chief Medical Officer for Cardiology for GenesisCare and currently conducts a weekly CardioOncology clinic in Adelaide, in the pre COVID era conducted a fortnightly clinic in Sydney which he now does as a Video/Telehealth clinic and is responsible for coordinating CardioOncology services at various GenesisCare sites in WA, Vic, Qld and NSW.
His talk will focus on what CardioOncology clinics can offer patients, and their referring clinicians (Medical and Radiation Oncology, Haematology and Surgeons). He will outline practical aspects involved in setting up and running such clinics and discuss what hurdles and barriers are faced, how they may be overcome and how this translates to better patient care, including patient stories. He will then discuss the future of CardioOncology in Australia and what he believes is needed to grow this area and more fully integrate it into the oncological multidisciplinary team for the benefit of cancer patients and cancer survivors.
