Cameron McLaren

Dr Cameron McLaren is a Medical Oncologist in southeast Melbourne and a PhD candidate at Monash University. Dr He was an early adopter of the provision of VAD assessments and is dedicated to sharing his experiences and contributing to evidence in the field of Voluntary Assisted Dying. He has been involved in the development of legislation and implementation of VAD several Australian states and continues to contribute to implementation of VAD in New Zealand. He is one of the Clinical Moderators of the Victorian Voluntary Assisted Dying Community of Practice - an online forum for Victorian doctors involved in VAD, is on the board of directors of Dying with Dignity Victoria (DWDV), and the founder and director of Voluntary Assisted Dying, Australia and New Zealand (VADANZ). Dr McLaren will provide a brief overview of VAD in Australia and New Zealand, data from both the most recent VAD Review Board report, and a case series of over 300 patients in Victoria, and compare the Victorian experience with international evidence.
